Deteriorated Chimney

The mortar crown is gone from this chimney and the top bricks are falling off. The chimney needs to be torn down to where it’s stable, then rebuilt with a new mortar crown. DETERIORATED MORTAR CROWN. Note that where the mortar crown had completely deteriorated away near the edges, the mortar between the bricks is also gone. The damage continue from the top down, when a strong wind can simply blow the top of the chimney over – onto the roof or your car below.
